Mansfield Pagans First Beltane Camp.

So, having mulled on it over the winter we decided to hold a small camp for Beltane, we found a gorgeous little site on the edge of Sherwood forest and we were lucky enough to have the site to ourselves for the weekend.

Despite the weathers best efforts we managed to have a brilliant time on Friday night, there was drumming and dancing around the fire with a little bit of damproofing courtesy of the mead brought by those who shall remain nameless.

Saturday was a very chilled out day, dressing the green man and wood gathering took place to make sure we could do right by Bel and enjoy a terrific fire.

Courtesy of one of our number we had a brilliant greenman figure (complete with rampant phallus of course!) to decorate and become the centre piece of our ritual.

We are looking forward to doing it all over again next year!
